Welcome to my kitchen!
About Me
My name’s Hanna Trent, I’m 36, and I cook from the heart—though these days, that heart beats strongest for high-protein, flavor-packed recipes that fuel both body and soul. I live just outside Brooklyn, in a cozy apartment with way too many spice jars and a fridge that looks more like a science experiment than a meal plan. But hey, that’s the life when you’re obsessed with food that doesn’t just taste amazing, but also does something good for you.
I didn’t start out with a protein scale or macros in mind. I grew up in the Bronx, where Sundays smelled like my grandmother’s slow-braised oxtails and the sizzle of cast-iron pans never really stopped. Food was celebration. It was healing. It was connection. But my journey took a turn in my mid-20s, when a health scare pushed me to rethink everything—what I ate, how I cooked, and how I felt in my own skin. I didn’t want to give up the joy of food, but I knew it had to work with me, not against me.
That’s when I dove into the world of high-protein cooking. I’m talking lean meats, legumes, eggs, Greek yogurt, tofu, and a love affair with lentils that still surprises my old meat-and-potatoes uncles. But here’s the deal: I never believed healthy had to mean bland. I started experimenting—smoking turkey breast with Moroccan spices, turning black beans into smoky burger patties that could hold their own next to any steak, and making protein-packed pancakes that taste like Sunday brunch even on a Wednesday morning.
Now, I spend my days developing recipes, filming quick tutorials in my tiny kitchen (yes, that’s really my dog Luna barking in the background), and connecting with people who are trying to eat better without giving up the soul of food. I’ve burnt a few batches, sure, and I’ve definitely misread a chili label or two—ghost pepper hummus was a wild ride—but that’s the beauty of it. Cooking is trial, error, and the occasional masterpiece.
If you’re here because you want to fuel your workouts, build a healthier lifestyle, or just make something that hits the spot and hits your protein goals, welcome. I’m not about perfection—I’m about real food, big flavor, and recipes that make you feel good in every way. Let’s get cooking.
